GENERAL QUESTIONS

Defeating Villains

How do I count our combined strength when defeating Villains?

First, count the total strength of all participating Ninjas, including any extra strength from active Potential Cards. You can use that sum of strength to defeat any Villain(s) in the room. It is up to you to decide how you use your sum of strength.

If I can, must I defeat one or more Villains?

No, you choose how many – if any – Villains to defeat. You don’t have to defeat all possible Villains.

Do I clear a room even if I do not defeat any Villain(s) nor take any Mastery Tokens?

Yes, clearing a room is the third step of your turn. You always do that step, even if you don’t defeat any Villains, ask any Ninja to join you or collect any Mastery Tokens.

Mastery Tokens

Do I have to collect Mastery Tokens when clearing a room? Do I then need to collect all of them?

Yes, when you clear a room with Mastery Tokens, you must collect all the Mastery Tokens in the room you are in.

Do I clear a room even if I do not defeat any Villain(s) nor take any Mastery Tokens?

Yes, clearing a room is the third step of your turn. You always do that step, even if you don’t defeat any Villains, ask any Ninja to join you or collect any Mastery Tokens.

Do I have to defeat a Villain in order to collect any Mastery Tokens?

No. You may collect any Mastery Tokens in the room regardless of whether you have defeated a Villain or not.

Moving through rooms

May I ask other Ninja to join me through walls?

No. Ninja cannot move through walls unless you have a Potential Card that grants you the ability to do so. If this card is active, you may move to another room through a wall or be called into a room through a wall.

May I move out from a room with Villains?

Yes, you can move out of a room with any number of Villains, but you cannot move through a room with Villains. When moving during your turn, if you enter a room with one or more Villains, you have to stop there.

Villains arrive

Should we turn Villains face up if they arrive into a room with a Ninja?

Yes, whenever a Ninja and a Villain are in the same room, you turn the Villain face up (if they are not face up already).

When Villains arrive at both moon and cloud entrances, should we add two Villains to the entrance that shows both icons (in the 2-3 player side of the board)?

Yes, you must add two Villains to the entrance with both moon and cloud.

LEGO® gear and elements

Do I have to build the LEGO® gear onto my Ninja as shown on the Potential Card?

No, you can build as you like, but you only get the elements shown on the Potential Card. You may of course also use any gear from your own LEGO collection to customize your Ninja.

What do I do if I lose some of the LEGO building pieces?

If you have lost a LEGO pieces, please contact LEGO through email by visiting the LEGO website and following the help path to email support.

If you have purchased a game that is missing a piece, please contact the shop where the game was purchased.

When does the game end?

When does the game end?

The game ends when either one of the two following events happens:

  1. The Victory Track is filled with defeated Villains, reaching the Victory Marker (up to the Victory Marker, not on top of it) or;
  2. The Villain Track is filled up with Villains, reaching the Serpent Head (up to the Serpent Head, not on top of it).

Does my +2 strength against teal Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a teal Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the teal Villain or not. However, if you defeat the teal Villain, and there are no other teal Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

JETPACK

Must I turn the Villains face up when entering or passing through a room with my jetpack?

Yes, any time you are in a room with a Villain, you turn the Villain in the room face up – even if you are moving on to the next room.

May I use my jetpack when a Ninja asks me to join the room?

Yes. For example, if Kai were to ask you to join him in a room, you can fly through a room with Villains without needing to stop.

TACTICAL ADVANTAGE

Does my +2 strength against purple Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a purple Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the purple Villain or not. However, if you defeat the purple Villain, and there are no other purple Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

MISDIRECTION

May I only move a Villain on my own turn?

Yes, once during your own turn may you drag a Villain from a connecting room into your room. You may only drag the Villain right before or after you have moved (no matter how many steps you have moved).

If I ask a Ninja 2 moves away to join me, may the Ninja move through a room with Villains?

No, the Ninja must stop in a room with Villains.

If a Ninja has Potential Cards that allow the Ninja to move through walls or use a jetpack, can the Ninja use that ability when the Ninja is asked by another Ninja to join a room?

Yes, if a Ninja has Potential Cards that allow the Ninja to move through walls or use a jetpack, such as Cole and Nya, then the Ninja can use that ability when being asked to join a room.

Does my +2 strength against red Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a red Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the red Villain. However, if you defeat the red Villain, and there are no other red Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

Does my +1 strength against red or teal Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of one of those colors in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a red or teal Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the red or teal Villain. However, if you defeat the red or teal Villain, and there are no other red or teal Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

Does my +2 strength against teal Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a teal Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the teal Villain or not. However, if you defeat the teal Villain, and there are no other teal Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

May I first defeat a Villain in a room and then stay in the same room to defeat another Villain?

Yes, if you choose to make O moves, you may stay in the room to defeat another Villain.

When defeating Villains before I move, may I ask a Ninja to join me?

Yes, you may ask other Ninja to join you if you defeat Villains both before and after you move.

When defeating Villains before I move, may I collect Mastery Tokens?

Yes, you may collect Mastery Tokens both before or after you move.

May I move through a wall when another Ninja asks me to join their room?

Yes, when you are asked by another Ninja to join a room, you may move through walls as long as this Potential Card is active.

Does my +2 strength against red Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a red Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the red Villain. However, if you defeat the red Villain, and there are no other red Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

SUPER STRENGTH

Does my +2 strength against teal Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a teal Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the teal Villain or not. However, if you defeat the teal Villain, and there are no other teal Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

May I only knock a Villain into a connecting room on my own turn?

Yes, once during your own turn may you knock a Villain into a connecting room. You may only knock the Villain right before or after you have moved (no matter how many steps you have moved).

May I freeze a Villain from advancing when an Adventure Card triggers the advancing?

Yes, every time Villains advance, you may freeze one Villain.

May I choose to flip only some of the Villains in a room face up?

Yes, you may choose to flip only some of the Villains in a room face up.

May I only flip all Villains in a room face up on my own turn?

Yes, once during your own turn, you may flip all Villains in a room face up. You may only flip the Villains right before or after you have moved (no matter how many steps you have moved).

SWORD OF BRAIN FREEZE

Does my +2 strength against purple Villains count, even if I choose not to defeat a Villain of that color in the room?

Yes, as long as you are in a room with a purple Villain, you have +2 strength, regardless of whether you defeat the purple Villain or not. However, if you defeat the purple Villain, and there are no other purple Villains remaining in the room, you will not have +2 strength on your next turn if you decide to stay in that room to clear other Villains that may remain.

May I choose when exactly on my turn to replace this Potential Card?

Yes, you may replace this Potential Cards at anytime during your turn.

Which Potential Cards can I choose from when replacing this Potential Card?

You can choose from any one of your Potential Cards that are not in use.

May I still make one move even though I have not defeated any Villains or collected any Mastery Tokens?

Yes, you may make one move even though you have not defeated any Villains or collected any Mastery Tokens.

May I defeat face-up Villains in connecting rooms when I am being asked by other Ninja to join a room?

Yes, you may defeat face-up Villains in connecting rooms when you are being asked by other Ninja to join a room.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Is flipping the first Adventure Card part of setup?

Yes. At the the very start of an Adventure, the first Ninja will start his or her turn by flipping an Event Card. But during the game, flipping the next Adventure Card replaces flipping an Event Card in a player’s turn. The Event Cards are then flipped again at the start up each turn as usual.

When it says “New Rule” on an Adventure Card, does that new rule then apply for the rest of the game?

Yes, the new rule applies for the rest of the game – unless conditions are changed on a later Adventure Card.

Yes, you may still use your extra strength for a Villain of a specific color, even if the Villain of that specific color has a strength of 5.

Must we flip all Villains face up to see which ones are Stone Warriors (Villains with a strength of 5)?

No, you just play as normal. Only the Villains with a visible strength of 5 are Stone Warriors.

May I use Potential Cards that move Villains (e.g. drag or knock) on the Stone Warriors (Villains of strength 5) that cannot be defeated?

Yes, you may move, drag and knock Stone Warriors (Villains with a strength of 5) even though they cannot be defeated.

CHANGE OF TACTICS

May Zane use Shurikens from a connecting room to drop Stone Warriors into one of the trapdoors?

No, Zane must be in a room with a trapdoor if he wants to drop Stone Warriors into the trapdoor.

ADVENTURE 4

OOOPS!

Must we advance all Villains that are somewhere on the path that runs through the room with the cannon?

Yes, you must advance all Villains on all steps on the path that runs through the room with the cannon.

May Zane freeze both times that Villains advance on this Adventure Card?

Yes, Zane may both freeze one red Villain advancing and one Villain on the path with the cannon advancing.

ADVENTURE 5

Can I move into a room with the Postman and continue to the next room with the Postman?

Yes, you can take the Postman with you.

If I move the Postman with me into a room with one or more Villains, may I defeat any of those Villains first – or do I have to add them immediately to the Villain Track?

The Villain(s) must IMMEDIATELY be added to the Villain Track when being in the same room as the Postman.

Where does Killow move?

Killow path

Can I use the upgrades from my Potential Cards (e.g. Hooked or Misdirection) on Killow?

No, Killow is not affected by Potential Cards that move him. When Killow is unmasked, you may use Potential Cards that give you more strength against purple and red Villains to defeat him.

Does Killow advance the same way as regular Villains?

No, when Villains advance, Killow doesn’t advance. Villains advancing into a room with Killow are pushed to the next step on their path.

RECRUITMENT TIME

Must I refill all spaces on the Victory Track?

Yes, if have removed Villains from spaces on the Victory Track, you have to refill all those spaces with Villains that you defeat.
